The Role:

Leads, coordinates, organises and improves all operational functions within the Bulk Concentrate Manufacturing Department to meet production requirements whilst ensuring compliance to all relevant standards and procedures.  Assures Safety / Quality /Cost / Delivery improvement annually through Development of Team and resources.

Duties:

• Drive company and departmental objectives, visions, values and KPI’s and ensure staff are motivated to achieve them.
• Ensure regular performance reviews are conducted; with any training requirements identified and acted upon.  Including skills and competency matrix, training plan and setting objectives.
• Ensure accurate and appropriate maintenance of Employee records including Training, Time and Attendance, absence and investigations
• Understand and ensure operational compliance with all procedures manual.
• Brief employees in accordance with the communication policy, including monthly/weekly and shift communications.
• Act as a role model for team at all times.
• Review team objectives regularly and ensure structure of team fits with the requirements of the business.
• Promote transparency in order to resolve problems and co-ordinate activities with other departments.
• Strengthen and support a culture of Continuous improvement
• Recommend and implement changes to processes and procedures that will improve safety, quality and efficiency
• Continually challenge status quo – ensuring function is innovative and up to date
• Monitor and control product wastage within budget
• Ensure the Department operates within the guidelines laid down under Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
• Work with the Quality team to ensure Corrective Actions are completed in a timely manner
• Ensure GMP standards within the business are met to maintain ISO22716 standard compliance at all times

The Person

• Significant experience in a similar role at a senior level in an FMCG environment
• Educated to degree level within relevant environment or equivalent experience
• Ability to control team of relatively independent individuals
• High level of practical common sense and the ability to think around problems of both a chemical and engineering nature
